Lithuanian Government
The Government in Lithuania or the Cabinet of Ministers consists of the Prime Minister and ministers and is responsible for implementation of effective legislation and for management of national affairs. The Government therefore is called the executive power.
The Prime Minister is appointed by the President upon the assent of the Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament) and usually represents the party which won the largest number of seats as an outcome of the parliamentary election.
The President also appoints ministers, with the candidates being submitted by the Prime Minister.
